Nestled in a small studio in a foot of Mt. Tengu in the oldest city in Hokkaido, Otaru, Jun creates lights and artworks inspired by universal themes attached to nature, culture, history, art and people’s lives.

PROFILE

Born in Tokyo, JAPAN
B.A. in Communication Studies, The University of Montana (U.S.A)
Studied candle making techniques under Claudia Simes (U.S.A)

Solo exhibitions annually held mainly in Sapporo and Tokyo.
Candles collaboratively designed and lit at annual “Candle Nights” events, theatrical projects, concerts and wedding banquets.
Jun also explores her works to produce exhibition ranges at art museums. Candles are exclusively designed and handcrafted for the collection of gifts to celebrate the themes of exhibitions by artists of all time.

Introducing candles by Earth Light Candles (handcrafted by Claudia Simes) to Japan, aquiring candle making technique from Claudia, establishing its own candle brand in 2006.
